In this short video, we meet Koffi Kpachavi, the new Executive Director for the Grand Traverse Conservation District (GTCD). A small farm operator and a beekeeper, Koffi has years of experience as an environmental educator with the YMCA, most recently in Fremont, Michigan.
Here Koffi speaks of the work GTCD does for Grand Traverse County and many local nonprofit organizations. He also describes his commitment to helping young people understand and relate to the natural world. The future of nature, he says, is in their hands.
In the final few seconds of the video, Koffi talks of bees and beekeeping, explaining why these pollinators are essential to human survival.
